1.  Click the Download button which will display the File Download Dialog window:
    Click the Save Button . Do Not Click Open or RUN!

2.  The Save As Dialog window will be displayed:

Click on the Desktop (under Favorites) on the left.  Then click the Save button in the lower right corner. Do not multitask (check E-mail, work on a Word document, etc.) until the download has completed. This can result in a coorupt download file.

3. After the download is complete, you will find the Setup.exe file on your desktop.
    Right Click on the Setup.exe file and choose Run as Administrator.

Note If you do not do this step, you will receive an error at the end of the installation which will prevent the installation from occuring and you will need to start all over again.

Now back to the installation:  You will see a UAC (User Account Control) popup asking if you want to allow the program from an unknown publisher. Click "yes". This will start the installation. Just follow the instructions to install Boards by the Numbers on your computer.  We suggest just clicking Next to accept the defaults throughout the install. However, do read the information.

After a successful installation and launch of Boards by the Numbers, you may delete this Boards_Setup file.

4.The final step:

1. Move your mouse pointer to the icon of Launch Boards on the Desktop (Green Cadusa) and click the right mouse button for a popup menu.
2. Select "Properties" command from the popup menu.
3. A dialog box will appear on the screen. Choose "Compatibility" tab.
4. Click on Change Settings for all users
5. Switch ON the checkbox "Run this program in compatibility mode" and choose "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" and Check Run this program as an administrator
6. Click Apply then"OK" button to confirm this new setting.
7. Click Ok again on the Launch Boards Property dialog box
8. Now double click Launch Boards. You will get the UAC warning. Remember always say Allow.
   

Note if you do not complete step 4 you will receive the following Error when you trey to access any of the notes in the program:

5.  Activation of Boards by the Numbers:  The first time you run the program, you will be required to activate it.  The activation process is very intuitive.  Just read the screens and follow the instructions. Note: On some systems you may see the following screen first.  Just click on Yes.

1. Make sure your are connected to the internet.
   
   
   
2. Double click the Launch Boards icon        . 
   
   
   

   This will display the Protection System Dialog Box:
   
   

3. Type in your serial number from your original e-mail. You may include or not include the dashes(-). Check the number to be certain it is correct and again make sure your Internet connection is active.  Click the Activate button.
   
   
   
   
   
4. If successful, you will see the following dialog box.After you get a confirmation that the activation was successful, you no longer require Internet connection when you use the program.

Note when your license has expired (365 days from your activation).  Uninstall the entire program as it will no longer function.  If you need to continue using Boards by the Numbers, please purchase the latest annual version at our web site.  You will need to purchase, download, install and activate your new version again.  Make sure you uninstall Boards older version before installing the new one.

You may access the program in one of two ways:

• Double click the Launch Boards.exe icon on your desktop (green cadusa).

  
  
  
• Or click Start, Programs, and the Boards group. You will find several icons within this group. Click on the Launch Boards icon (green cadusa).
