Problem
1:
I have a new Netbook computer and when I launch
Boards, I just see a picture of Dr. Dallalio and cannot
use the program.
Solution:
Just hit the Enter key which will close the splash
screen and you will then be able to access the menu
items and use Boards by the Numbers. This is caused
by the lower resolution found on the Netbook computers.
The newer generation netbooks will fix this problem,
however, currently all netbooks have one resolution
and many programs will not function at that lower resolution.
Luckly, the default button on our splash screen is the
Close button, so hitting the Enter key closes our splash
screen.
Problem 2:
"Error reading setup initialization file"
This occurs when the downloaded file (Setup.exe) is
corrupt (a bad download).
Solution:
- Delete the downloaded
file (setup.exe) from your computer
- Return
to your download e-mail and click on the download link
again to repeat the download. When you see
the pop-up window that ask you if you would like to
SAVE or OPEN, be sure to select
Save not Open. Please read note below
first.
Note: After
you start the download, DO NOT do anything
else with your
computer or
any computer
on your Internet connection until the download
is complete. Working with other applications,
checking your e-mail, etc. can corrupt the download.
Problem 3:
During the installation, it stops at about 6%.
Then I get an Error that states " The file C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\DAO3032.DLL\DAO35.cnt
Could not be opened. Please check the path.
Solution:
Click on Contact
Support and inform them you have Problem #2 (Incorrect
DAO 3032.DLL path) please leave a number where
you can be reached (be at your computer) and the best
time to contact you. A support Rep will return
your call.
Problem 4: I can not use the written
exams. When I try to use the written exams, the
program just goes away and I am back to the desktop.
I have to start the program again and the same thing happens
when ever I try the exams. This is caused by an improper
installation of a needed system file (mshflxgd.ocx).
You need to register the file manually.
Solution:
- Click
Start - Run
- Type
in regsvr32 "C:\windows\system\mshflxqd.ocx in
the text box of the RUN dialog box.
Tip!!! Highlight
the yellow text above and hit the ctrl key and the
C key at the same time (ctrl+C). This will
copy the highlighted text to your clip board. Then
put your cursor in the RUN text box and hit (ctrl+V). This
will paste the exact highlighted text into the RUN
text box.
- Click
OK
- You
should receive a message stating that the DllRegister
Server succeeded.
- Click
OK. Now try the written exam section again.
- If
the register does not succeed or if you are still
having problems, contact support.
